Crevice Creatures by Chris Acker ©2013

I know the rats are watching, waiting
When the lights are out, they will crawl
See the spiders' webs in the corners
But on top of your head, they will fall

Be afraid, little ones, yes
For the fear keeps you safe
In a world full of creatures
That can know only hunger or hate

When you're all alone in the dark, crying
Monsters can hear you, and get you
If the Boogey Man comes looking, he'll find us
We cant see him, but he always sees you

Never sleep, little children, oh no
You must always be afraid to sleep
If you have a dream about the creatures
They will eat you alive in your dream

The scary sounds from outside, it's calling
And the shadows on your walls, they're from killers
So don't make any sounds, no weeping no balling
They will take you away with them, to the sewers

There the rats are waiting, hungry
And the first thing they will eat is your eyes
Then your ears and your tongue, devoured by creatures
Who want to hear little babies' cries

Hide now, little ones, yes
The monsters are coming tonight
From the darkness under your bed
And with razor- sharp teeth they'll bite

Forsaken Knowledge by Chris Acker (c) 2015

Forsaken Knowledge (sequel to Forbidden Knowledge)

If you are reading this
It is already too late,
It means you thought not
Of the Earth or it's fate.

Looks like you've made your choice
After I warned you countless times,
You cover your eyes and quiet your voice
trapped in a box, just like mimes

There is no going back now
But even if you could,
Even if you learned how
And if you truly understood...

Every choice that you make
You would choose once again,
Repeating all your mistakes
Until you've reached the same end.

These Hard Days of adjusting
Your Life your world, never be the same
Hills melted Oceans combusting
Skies burning out, End of this game

I should have tried harder
To get through to you all,
Warnings just weren't enough
To prevent society's fall.

To those that took heed:
I thank you today...
You're the unique breed
That still might find a way

Under smoke-blackened skies,
And through darkness and doom...
Stand together to survive
In a world that's now a tomb.

To everyone who did not hear:
You all will perish first
some overcome by their fear
while some ravaged by thirst

It's just as I warned them
about the darkness to come,
The trials that await all
Our brothers and your sons.
