Forbidden Knowledge

Forbidden Knowledge   ©Chris Acker 5-18-2009

To those who think not of the Earth or it's fate:
You cannot know the meaning of what I say
You've been taught to be ignorant is to be blessed.
Our truth is a curse, to learn it is to regret it.

But to you who seek knowledge: may you find answers.
The secrets of the universe revealed ever faster.
Be warned, for it is a burden to have this power,
The temptation to use it grows stronger by the hour.
The rewards are many, though the risks are too;
The costs are high, what will be taken from you?
Will the whole human race need be sacrificed?
The answer is "yes it will, its well worth the price."

To those who have seen the darkness to come:
You know what awaits your brothers and sons,
You must do your best to prepare for the worst
Know you now why this knowledge is cursed.

To all the believers who truly fear this fate:
Fewer will survive if many are afraid.
Your best hope is to find allies and friends
Then stand together as we near the end.
The masses will fall first, the ones who matter not,
The ones who waste their lives will be first to rot.
No one to run the show, leaving cities dark at night,
Our society crumbles when deprived of it's light.
For the few survivors the real hell has just begun
Very little food, and not enough water for everyone.

I share with you this knowledge, this curse,
In hopes you will change your world first,
Before the sky goes dark and we find it's too late
To undo the damage or to change our fate.
I've seen the fires for myself, I saw the stars blink out,
I can pretend it's not real, and submit to my doubt.
But should the day come when Earth becomes Hell,
I would share you're fate, and would regret how I didn't tell.
I've been to that future place, dark and burning
Was brought back to tell of a world that stopped turning.
If you let it happen, you all deserve to die out
You'll wish you hadn't survived to hear your children cry out.
If I had it my way, we'd already be gone
But alas, we're still here, the time has not yet come.
This is not a movie, nor a show on TV,
It's a chance to share what's been given to me.
I am not a prophet, nor savior it's true,
Just a man with knowledge to be given to you.
And now that you know what is to come,
For you to decide what is to be done.

Buried Upside Down

BURIED UPSIDE DOWN **(The King is Dead)** by Christopher Acker  © June 12 2011

You may seduce the world into mourning you
But your death I discreetly celebrate
For I shall be the one to finally bury you
Now they've made you immortal, yet eternally disgraced.

The world will be better now you've gone away
You can't harm anyone once you're in the ground
And I will laugh over your decaying remains
After I've buried your body upside down

I will inflict the deepest wound one can suffer
Even after your death I will strike one final time
Desecrate your remains and those of your mother
Consider it justice for your unspeakable crime

They called you a king and ignored what you'd done
Then they cursed your name when you weren't around
You were a monster and not a king to anyone
Now you know why you've been buried upside down

Your subjects were sheep to be herded astray
By a rat among men and thats all you ever were
For only the vermin prospered during your reign
Your tyranny was a plague and I know the cure

I will eliminate your very name from history
And tear down all your monuments, statues and walls
No longer will your wealth or influence stop me
From storming your castle and burning it's halls

They mourn you now but in time they will find
Another to lead them all into a new golden age
The people will come to see your death as a sign
To look to the horizon, to finally turn the page

Fear not for your kingdom (as if you ever did)
Cry not for the lost adoration of your subjects
They will no longer need you (as if they ever did)
Think only of your remains being devoured by insects

Indeed it's a suitable fate for one such as you
To be laid to rest where you will never be found
Discarded and disgraced, turning cold and blue
No one ever knowing you were buried upside down

The Road of Endless Screams

THE ROAD OF ENDLESS SCREAMS ©2009 Chris Acker

In most of my dreams I walk down a road
Through a place I've been but isn't real
And every time I must walk it alone
So to survive I must ignore any fear I feel

This road is long and spans the globe
Through cities and over mountains and seas
Where the road ends I may never know
Perhaps it's the path back to reality

It's much like being lost in the desert
Or finding myself trapped in a maze
I must either choose to keep walking or
Try to find some means of escape

So I wake myself thinking I'm free
And no longer lost in my own dream
At least until I must sleep again
Then I return to the Road of Endless Screams

That's what I have named this wretched nightmare
And if you ever see it you will understand
See the faces of those who have died everywhere
Hear the unrelenting cries that echo across that land

This is a place where you don't want to be
Alone in a world without love or hope
Take a walk down the road if you don't believe me
And we'll see just how well you can cope

Along the Road are many places where
The Oceans are on fire the sky darkened by smoke
And on the path I must take through there
Walk the dreaming souls who never awoke

Forever they scream aloud for they are lost
Unable to return to their waking lives
All they can feel is the fear in their hearts
They've forgotten their children and abandoned their wives

The people of this realm destroy their own land
With deadly poisons and setting hellish fires
Locked in an eternal war with themselves and
Enslaved both by terror and insatiable desire

Oh the horrifying things I've seen down that road
Raping and burning and death all night and day
The screams of pain can be heard all around
Across the land from hundreds of miles away

It may drive you crazy and then turn you cold
Or maybe in time you'll get used to it all
After so many trips I've made on the road
I doubt if I have any sanity left at all

And even my Death can not end this hell
If I die there I can never wake again
And to die in the waking world is futile as well
Those who try only end up where the nightmare began

If I close my eyes and listen real well
I swear I can still hear them all screaming
But what if I never awoke from that hell
Sleepwalking down the road I'm still dreaming

Terrible Wonderland

Terrible Wonderland  by Chris  Acker  ( copyright 10-26-2012 )

In my youth I sought "the light"
in every dark room and road,
until one day I lost my sight
the world still dark and cold.

Whenever I'd stand-up to fight
I'd try and look all around,
but only I would see the night
as the beasts would knock me down.

Look at them, now look at me
and tell me what you see...
all the light and all the good,
everything I'll never be.

I look at you and i see the truth
i could never see as a youth...
The light is dark, and dark is real
Much more real than you.

This life is a game to lose or win
and this world is but a dream,
it matters not if we should sin
and die a death unclean.

I look at you, but in the dark
I can never tell you apart...
from shadows in the long cold night
nor my own blackened heart.

The Nothing was, and will be again,
once we leave this dragons den,
when we die, we escape this dream,
this "Terrible Wonderland"

The shadow is and will always be
the only light I'll ever see...
until I gasp my last breath
when death shall set me free

So, when you see light from the sun,
you'll know it's all an illusion.
The light is dark, and dark is real,
Much more real than anyone.

The Nothing is and it always was.
The shadow pure and darkness true,
for all light fades along with your gods
who are just as unreal as you.

All you know and all you say
and all the world will die someday.
But the Nothing is and will always be
the Truth that guides my way.

The Nothing is and it always was.
The shadow pure and darkness true,
for all light fades along with your gods
who are just as unreal as you.
